South West Tractors has officially been purchased by the AEH Central NSW group, a move that signals a strong future for the agricultural machinery industry in the area.

David and Renee Thompson have been owner-operators of McPhersons Parts and Service in Parkes since 2012.

In 2018 they purchased Forbes and Cowra Machinery Centres and this was closely followed by Temora Truck and Tractor and Gallaghers Machinery (now known as West Wyalong Machinery Centre) in February of 2019.

David and Renee work closely with their silent business partner and Agricultural Equipment Holdings (AEH) general manager Mark Massingham, former New Holland Australia and New Zealand brand manager, to continue the growth and sustainability of agricultural machinery dealerships in central NSW.

The purchase of South West Tractors has closed the boundaries between the AEH Central NSW group’s current dealerships combining their PMA to enable the unity of the locations to strengthen the New Holland brand and agricultural industry in Central NSW.

“The first branch we purchased back in 2012 was from my father and his business partner who were both ready to retire. All the branches we have purchased since have been well-established, locally owned dealerships,” David said.

“Our mission is to retain the staff knowledge and experience of the local communities, providing opportunity for the growth and development of our teams and products we offer, while continuing to support local businesses.”

Joel De Britt, former parts manager of South West Tractors, has been announced as branch manager, Austin Davis will stay on with South West Tractors in sales and Ben Bushby will take on the role of service advisor within the branch.

Jim and Kaye will now, “take an easier approach to life and spoil the grandchildren”.

“We appreciate the major presence Jim had throughout the business so when it was time to fill that gap Joel immediately stood out with his knowledge of the local area, experience within the industry and passion to lead the team in the future,” David said.

“With Ben’s technician background and eagerness to learn combined with the commitment from the entire South West Tractors team and the support from the AEH1 group, I can see a future of success in providing agricultural machinery solutions combining tradition, innovation and technology for the Young and surrounding area.”

David, Renee and Mark would like to pass on their deepest thanks and congratulations to Jim and Kaye Ower and Austin Davis for their success in building South West Tractors to the business it is today, along with ensuring all existing customers’ accounts have automatically transferred over to the new business.
They extend a warm welcome to all present and future customers.

South West Tractors operating hours will be 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12pm on Saturday, with seasonal options in the future.

New Holland Agriculture will continue to be the major brand along with market leading brands Challenge Implements, Hardi, K-Line, McHale, Digga, Bare-co, Howard, Simplicity, Agrowplow, Agmaster and John Berends Implements with some major new brands due to be launched in the near future.
